'The Selfish Gene' by Richard Dawkins: Tirade against watchmaker Creationist !

Humanist Manifesto of 21st Century: No evolutionist should put his/her money on forecasting...

Something is changing in the air which has nothing to do with religion. We do not want them from holy books. Modern liberal enlightened ethic must be derived from secular/moral ethic. We have moved partially from the days of religion and tribal/clan laws to Secular moral philosophy, Jurisprudence, Piece of fiction, newspapers/journalism where good ideas about how to run society are debated, constructed and shaped. The changes in our thinking owes largely genetic and historical shifts in degree of altruism and compassion. This has to do with our rationality and our subjectivity and many other things we have achieved by evolution described by book 'Selfish Gene', as altruism for goodness through kinship and natural selection. Darwinian selection pressure for genes forces to behave in a altruistic ways and in a manner which cherishes compassion through reciprocation.

Dawkins talked about Philosophy, Evolution, Religion, Moral Ethics, Creationism and much   more...                                                                         (listen to the audio on the side-panel link)
Dawkins read out from his new book "The Magic of Reality"
Steven Pinker added stellar performance by his detailed explanation about why violence in human race and over the history declined and further underscored the significance of compassion, technology, democracy and other shifts for this decline...(for more, refer to his latest book "The Better Angels of Our Nature")
